Introduced in 2014, the F.P. Journe Élégante is a watch that lives up to its name in every respect. At its heart is a cutting-edge electro-mechanical movement that powers down when not in use, only to instantly resume when worn again. The result? A battery life of up to 18 years. Housed in a sleek titanium case, the Élégante blends high-concept engineering with minimalist refinement. Truly, a modern marvel with timeless appeal.
Why a New Strap?
As striking as the Élégante’s original strap is, it’s not exactly the be-all and end-all — there’s always room for improvement and versatility. For those seeking something even more refined and wearable, we saw an opportunity to bring our signature Delugs craftsmanship to the table.
Our Approach
We knew this strap had to match the Élégante’s slim, architectural profile while bringing something new to the wrist. Enter: the Sailcloth CTS Rubber Strap for the F.P. Journe Élégante. Designed to integrate seamlessly with the Élégante’s case, the strap features an embossed sailcloth texture that extends across the surface and edges for a more cohesive appearance, combining the rugged charm of sailcloth with the practicality of FKM rubber.
Why FKM? It’s the rubber of choice for high-performance watch straps — resistant to UV and wear, hypoallergenic and built to go the distance. Top it all off: the Sailcloth CTS Rubber Strap for the F.P. Journe Élégante is designed as a CTS strap, paired with our CTS Deployant Clasp for a secure, comfortable fit without compromise. While the Élégante is only offered in Titanium, we decided to offer three different clasp options: Silver (Steel) to complement the watch's mix of brushed and polished surfaces; Graphite (Titanium) to match the hue of Titalyt-coated titanium; and Gunmetal (Titanium) for a completely murdered out appearance.
We also want Élégante owners to be able to enjoy the variety that comes with our CTS Rubber Straps, which is why this new strap series will be available in 10 colours: Baby Blue, Black, Emerald Green, Grey, White, Navy, Olive Green, Orange, Purple and Red. We’ve also gone ahead and installed quick release spring bars in this strap for fuss-free swapping; no thanks necessary!
