With its stunning champagne dial and 18-karat yellow gold case, it perfectly captures those classic vintage Heuer vibes while maintaining a bold, modern presence on the wrist. Dark Grey Alcantara Signature

The gold panda version of the Carrera Chronograph is already a pretty bold watch. Champagne dial, yellow gold case, vintage Heuer vibes — it’s a watch that commands attention.

So when thinking about strap options, I wanted to start with something that tempers the flash without being boring.

Grey Alcantara does exactly that. The cool, neutral tone pulls back the warmth of the gold just enough to make the whole thing feel more wearable day-to-day. It also brings out the highlights of the sunray subdials, a detail that ties the whole pairing together.

Worth noting that this Carrera has a notoriously awkward lug width of 20.7mm. However, Delugs’ 21mm straps fit it perfectly.

Navy Saffiano Signature

Of all the leather straps I’ve owned, those made from saffiano leather seem to hold up the best after extended wear.

The material itself is a waxy embossed leather that was developed and patented by Mario Prada in 1913. It’s very scratch-resistant and somewhat water-resistant.
For the colour, I selected a navy blue, which just naturally pairs well with yellow gold, creating a timeless, almost nautical look. Perfect for dreaming of all the yachts I’ll never board because I spent too much on watches.

Gold Chèvre Slim

I’ve owned several chèvre (goat leather) straps from Delugs in the past, and it’s definitely the softest material in their catalogue. The natural pebbled grain is soft to the touch but still water and scratch-resistant. At just 2.2mm thick, it’s both light and pliable despite its durability.

Where a grey strap or a blue strap works with this watch by contrasting the case, gold chèvre creates a visual block of warm tones to draw attention. Kind of makes this the perfect summer pairing!

Matte Black Alligator Signature

Few materials pair as well with a gold watch as alligator, and the matte finish that Delugs uses really pushes the yellow tones of the metal forward.
