We collaborated with AIS Collective to develop two cleaning tools – one for your leather straps, the ChronoLeatherPen, and one for your rubber straps and watches, the ChronoPen. Depending on whether you want to clean your leather or rubber straps, you can choose the tool that best fits your needs.
ChronoPen
Created by AIS Collective, the ChronoPen is a Swiss Made cleaning pen designed for rubber straps and watches. Featuring 30ml of specially formulated cleaning solution and a soft brush with extra fine bristles, it gently and effectively cleans your rubber straps, and watch cases and bracelets.
ChronoLeatherPen
Keep your leather straps looking their best with the ChronoLeatherPen, a Swiss Made, all-in-one leather care solution created by AIS Collective. Each ChronoLeatherPen is equipped with a smooth yet firm silicone brush head and contains 30ml of AIS’s specially formulated solution that is enriched with beeswax and jojoba oil to clean, condition, and protect your leather straps.
Each pen lasts for up to 60 uses.
Compatible Materials
ChronoPen
The ChronoPen is suitable for use on: rubber, stainless steel, yellow, rose and white gold; platinum, bronze, carbon fibre, titanium, ceramic as well as sapphire crystal and gemstones.
For cleaning of leather straps, we recommend using the ChronoLeatherPen instead.
ChronoLeatherPen
The ChronoLeatherPen is suitable for materials such as Alligator, Chevre, Crocodile, Epsom, Rubberised Leather, Saffiano, Sailcloth, and Zermatt.
For Alcantara and Shell Cordovan, you might notice the leather darkens or shows water spots at first. These usually disappear after a quick buff with a microfibre cloth. Still, we recommend testing on the underside of the floating keeper first, just to be safe.
If you’re new to using leather care products, it’s a good idea to start with a small amount first.
It will affect the appearance of and should not be used on the following leather straps: Babele, Baranil, Buttero, Crazy Horse, Nubuck, Ostrich, Pueblo, Waxy, and other veg tan leathers.
How To Use The ChronoPen
- Remove the lid from your ChronoPen. Point the brush upward and pump the button until the cleaning solution appears at the brush tip
- Gently scrub your rubber strap or watch with the soft brush using a circular motion
- Rinse both the rubber strap or watch and the ChronoPen brush under clean running water
- Finish by drying your rubber strap or watch with a dry, clean cotton towel
We recommend using the ChronoPen as often as you feel your rubber strap / watch deserves it. It can be part of your daily routine or a monthly cleaning ritual, depending on your lifestyle. For example, if you go swimming everyday, you may want to clean your rubber strap / watch afterwards everyday.
How To Use The ChronoLeatherPen
- Remove the lid from your ChronoLeatherPen. Hold the pen so that the silicone brush points upwards, then press the button until the cleaning solution starts to come out of the brush
- Gently massage the solution onto your leather strap with the silicone brush, moving in a circular motion
- Let the cream dry for 10-15 minutes
- Finally, use the dry microfibre cloth provided in the box to wipe off any excess liquid from the leather strap
Recommended frequency of usage depends on how often you wear your strap. We recommend using the ChronoLeatherPen every ~3 months+ if you wear the strap often, or whenever your leather strap shows signs of dryness or appears dull.
Helpful Tips
ChronoPen
If you’re using the ChronoPen to clean your watch, make sure your watch is water-resistant and the crown is wound down fully before you start cleaning it.
Also, while the ChronoPen’s soft brush is designed to reach most tight areas around your watch and rubber strap or bracelet, we recommend occasionally removing the rubber strap or bracelet to clean them separately from the watch. Dirt often accumulates between the watch case and the strap/end-links of the bracelet.
ChronoLeatherPen
For optimal use of the ChronoLeatherPen, we recommend removing the leather strap from both the watch case and buckle. This allows you to reach more surface area of the strap with the silicone brush.
