Strap Guide written by @springbartheory. Thank you, Alfonso!
Introduction
Some watches are impressive because they’re loud… and then there are watches that are impressive because they’re right. The Omega Seamaster 300 Heritage, in my opinion, belongs squarely in the latter.
I’ve been captivated by its simplicity and near-perfect proportions: The vintage cues, the warm lume, the clean dial layout, and that unmistakable dive bezel. It’s the kind of watch that feels timeless without trying too hard.
But what really makes the Seamaster 300 Heritage special is how easily it can transform depending on the strap you put on it. Throw it on rubber and it becomes a modern, sporty everyday diver. Put it on crocodile and suddenly it feels elevated and dressy, without losing its tool-watch soul. A true strap monster.
In this strap guide, I’ll be featuring five Delugs straps that each bring a different personality to the Seamaster 300 Heritage.
Copper Ostrich Leg Signature
If I had to pick one strap that captures the Seamaster 300 Heritage’s ‘secret superpower’, it would have to be this one.
The Copper Ostrich Leg Signature adds texture, warmth, and a touch of personality without looking flashy. The pattern is natural and irregular, so it feels refined but still casual and wearable. On the wrist, it turns the Seamaster 300 Heritage into a watch you could wear with a sweater, a jacket, or even something slightly dressier — without ever feeling like you’re forcing a dive watch into formal territory.
The vibe: vintage-luxe, warm, confident
Best for: dinners, weekends, travel days, casual smart looks
Why it works: adds depth and contrast while keeping it understated
Navy Chevre Slim
The Seamaster 300 Heritage has a strong ‘vintage diver’ identity, but navy leather brings out the cleaner, more modern side of the watch.
The Navy Chevre Slim Strap feels crisp and minimal. It makes the dial and bezel look sharper, and it gives the entire watch a cooler, more contemporary look — almost like a modern daily watch that just happens to be a diver.
Chevre also has a lightly tumbled, refined finish that looks elegant without feeling too dressy.
The vibe: modern and clean, understated sporty
Best for: office, daily wear, travel, denim and white tees
Why it works: navy pairs effortlessly with the black bezel and keeps things sleek
Brown Alcantara Signature "Teddy Bear"
This one is pure fun and a surprisingly perfect match.
The Seamaster 300 Heritage is a tool watch, but it has enough warmth and vintage character that it can take softer textures really well. The Brown Alcantara Signature ‘Teddy Bear’ leans into comfort and personality, and it makes the whole watch feel more relaxed and casual.
This is the strap I’d reach for when I want the Seamaster 300 to feel like the ultimate weekend watch: cosy, effortless, and not too serious.
The vibe: cosy casual, vintage outdoors
Best for: weekends, fall/winter looks, sweaters, casual travel
Why it works: texture + warmth matches the watch’s vintage DNA
Glossy Taupe Brown Crocodile Signature
This is the ‘dress it up’ move.
A crocodile strap completely changes the way people perceive a watch, even if the watch itself is still a diver. On the Seamaster 300 Heritage, the Glossy Taupe Brown Crocodile creates a beautiful contrast: Rugged dive bezel + polished leather = a refined and confident look.
It’s the best option here when you want the watch to feel more elevated, more intentional, and slightly more formal without turning it into something it’s not.
The vibe: dressed-up diver, refined and sharp
Best for: dinners, events, smart casual outfits, business casual
Why it works: glossy croc adds elegance and makes the case feel more premium
Serpentine Ostrich Leg Signature
This is the ‘unexpected cool’ option. The Seamaster 300 Heritage has enough classic presence that it can handle more interesting strap textures, and the Serpentine Ostrich Leg adds that extra ‘wow’ factor without being too loud. It keeps the watch sporty and relaxed, but gives it a distinctive look — like you know exactly what you’re doing with your straps.
The vibe: adventurous, textured, interesting, but tasteful
Best for: vacations, weekends, when you want something different
Why it works: adds character without competing with the watch
My Recommended Rotation
If I could only keep two straps for the Seamaster 300 Heritage:
• Copper Ostrich Leg Signature (my favourite all-rounder)
• Glossy Taupe Brown Crocodile Signature Strap (elegant / dress up option)
If I wanted a three-strap “perfect lineup”:
• Navy Chevre Slim Strap (versatile hero)
• Serpentine Ostrich Leg Signature Strap (cool option)
• Brown Alcantara “Teddy Bear” (cosy casual)
Final Thoughts
The Omega Seamaster 300 Heritage is a masterclass in simple yet perfect design, but it’s also one of the best watches out there for strap changing. It’s a rare piece that can go from sporty and rugged to elevated and dressed-up with nothing more than a strap swap.
