On 25 and 26 July, Delugs’ flagship boutique opened its doors to collectors and enthusiasts eager to meet independent Finnish watchmaker Torsti Laine. Across two days of intimate, personal appointments and casual drop-in sessions, guests explored Laine’s exceptional P37, V38 and GG3 models while learning about the brand’s dedication to artisanal finishing and bespoke customisation.
Welcoming Horological Intimacy
From the moment visitors stepped into our modular boutique, the focus was on personal connection. Torsti greeted each appointment personally, guiding collectors through the story behind his journey — from his training at Kelloseppäkoulu and Voutilainen’s workshop to winning the Walter Lange Award in 2014. In the lounge area, guests enjoyed one-on-one sessions while perusing mood boards of guilloché patterns and hand-finishing samples.
Spotlight on Signature Models
Laine P37
Torsti demonstrated how the P37’s modified Unitas-based movement is meticulously black-polished and hand-bevelled. A close-up photo captured the deep, mirror-like shine of its bridges beneath the exhibition caseback.
Laine V38
Laine's artisan dial station showcased the V38’s triple-guilloché and frosted-ring configurations. Visitors could inspect engraving depths, surface textures and colour contrasts up close, selecting textures that will appear on their own commissions.
Laine GG3
The larger GG3 case drew attention for its balance of classical proportions and bold custom colourways. Tables displayed sample dials alongside swatches of hands and finishes, allowing collectors to compare textures and discuss their preferences.
The Art of Bespoke Craftsmanship
Throughout the event, Torsti explained how Laine Watches brings high-end dialwork and movement finishing into an accessible price bracket. He guided guests through each stage of dial creation — from the rose engine’s precise engraving of the guilloché patterns to the plating trough where dials receive their final tone — demonstrating the meticulous care behind every piece. This revealed the harmony between time-honoured techniques and modern efficiency that defines Laine’s “bespoke creative lab.”
Genuine Interactions & Collector Insights
Guests praised Torsti’s openness and willingness to accommodate almost any request — whether it was Eastern Arabic numerals, black-polished escapement layouts or custom blued-steel hands. Collectors noted the P37’s bridges bore a jewel-like polish, while the V38’s triple-guilloché dial revealed remarkable depth and texture when viewed from different angles.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for making this event a celebration of individuality and mechanical artistry.
