The Atelier Wen Perception stands as a proud symbol of Chinese watchmaking. Its intricate guilloché dial, hand-turned by Cheng Yu Cai (China’s first master of the craft), takes over eight hours to complete and reflects centuries of artistry. Cultural design cues like the 回纹 (huí wén) pattern and guardian lion motif further ground the Perception in traditional Chinese culture and aesthetics.
The Case for a Complementary Strap
While the integrated bracelet is a design highlight of the Perception, some occasions (and wrists) call for something a little different. Atelier Wen responded to this by offering an FKM rubber strap for greater comfort and casual versatility. But we saw an opportunity to take it one step further — elevating both the look and feel through thoughtful design and premium execution.

Our aim was clear: to develop a strap that complements the Perception in both form and function. Drawing on our expertise in strap making, we crafted a sailcloth-pattern FKM rubber strap that pairs beautifully with the watch’s sculptural case. We also made it available in 10 colours: Baby Blue, Black, Emerald Green, Grey, White, Navy, Olive Green, Orange, Purple and Red. The embossed sailcloth texture runs seamlessly across the strap’s surface and edges for a more cohesive appearance, echoing the tactile charm of sailcloth while delivering the performance of modern rubber.
FKM rubber is a material we know and trust: it’s strong, UV-resistant and hypoallergenic. Ideal for daily wear. And of course, this strap is designed with our CTS feature to ensure a comfortable fit from day one and paired with our CTS Deployant Clasp (choose from Silver [Steel] and Gunmetal [Titanium] options), offering tool-free micro-adjustments for a secure, tailored wearing experience. The choice of clasps also allows wearers to match their Perception's case material, be it stainless steel or titanium.
Each Sailcloth CTS Rubber Strap for the Atelier Wen Perception is meticulously manufactured to meet our exacting standards. This includes the use of quick release spring bars to support tool-free strap-swapping. From design to production, every detail has been considered to ensure a perfect pairing with the Perception.
