CTS stands for Cut To Size. Rather than coming in S/M/L lengths like leather straps, CTS rubber straps ship at a fixed length designed to fit all wrist sizes. You trim the strap down to your exact wrist measurement using the detailed instructions included with every CTS strap. The result is a perfectly fitted strap with no excess material. Both integrated and non-integrated rubber straps (like the Waffle or Tropical) use the CTS system.

It depends on the leather. Finished leathers like Epsom and Saffiano have a treated surface that repels moisture well — they can handle splashes, rain, and sweat without issue. Rubberised Leather and Sailcloth straps are effectively waterproof. On the other end, raw or unfinished leathers like Buttero or Pueblo will absorb water on contact, and the colour may change immediately. If water resistance matters, check our leathers page for the specific properties of each type, or go with an FKM rubber strap for full waterproofing.

How do I care for my leather watch strap? +

Rotate between two or more straps to give each one time to dry between wears — this is the single most effective way to extend strap life. Avoid prolonged contact with water, sunscreen, and perfume. If the strap gets wet, pat it dry with a soft cloth and let it air-dry away from direct heat. Finished leathers like Epsom and Saffiano are more forgiving; raw leathers like Pueblo and Buttero require more caution around moisture. With proper care, a quality leather strap lasts 1–3 years of daily wear.
