Cognac Shell Cordovan Slim Strap
Chat with us now
Shell Cordovan is the top tier leather available, before the category of exotics. It comes from the hind of a horse, and because the fibres are packed so densely together, the leather that results from that is incredibly durable. While Shell Cordovan is usually a stiff leather, when made in the Slim style, it is very flexible and a great companion to your dress watch.
The Shell Cordovan we use comes from Shinki Hikaku tannery in Japan. Typical of most shell cordovan, it has a high gloss finish. Unique to Shinki Shell, the surface is extremely uniform and clean, with a beautiful depth of colour. This leather is so durable that it is likely to last as long as your mechanical timepiece!
Excerpt from Strap Guide by Tom: "The earliest known use cases for Shell Cordovan leather was in armour breast plates and shields of the 7th century. It's non-porous and non-creasing surface and ability to maintain oils from the tanning process made it superior to most leathers in term of both durability and water resistance. Today it is mostly appreciated for its natural and unmistakable shine and is mostly used in quality shoes and boots. The Cognac color gives the Tank a quite casual but still elegant look."

Shell Cordovan Leather from Shinki Hikaku Tannery in Japan
Shell Cordovan is particularly at home as a watch strap, one of its signature properties being that it tends to ripple rather than crease. Shinki Hikaku's version of the leather is also extremely clean and uniform, and can show off cool tones and depth of colour.
Saddle Stitched by Hand with Linen Thread
Every strap is saddle stitched by hand by our leather artisans. Unlike lock stitch created by machines, a saddle stitch is more durable as it is made of two independent stitches that forms a knot at every stitch. Linen thread in 0.35mm thickness was selected for a fine and natural weave.

Our straps come with custom made quick release spring bars! This makes it very easy to change out your strap - you don't have to use any tools to do so, which is life-changing if you haven't tried it before. Sealed Edges for Long-Term Durability
Our edges are finished with multiple layers of edge paint to seal the raw edges. The edges are sanded and edge paint is applied. After the first layer of edge paint has dried, another round of sanding and another layer of edge paint is applied. This process repeats until the edge paint is smooth and uniform.
316L Stainless Steel Delugs Classic Buckle
With its mix of brushed and polished finishes, the Delugs Classic Buckle brings a sophisticated look to your strap. The shape of the buckle head and the tongue encourages the strap to flow ergonomically through the buckle and into the keepers when worn on the wrist, ensuring comfort and durability.
Hypoallergenic Zermatt Leather for Lining
The straps are lined with Zermatt leather from Haas tannery, specially developed for use as a lining material. It is soft to the touch and comfortable even after hours of wear. The leather is water- and sweat-resistant and works well even in hot and humid climate such as Singapore.
