Waxy Slim strap is a rustic strap with a strong pull-up effect that gives character to the seemingly normal looking leather. It is a very supple strap with no break-in required, and has a rich colour and character that complements vintage watches really well. As a veg-tan leather, this leather will form a patina over time, with a unique sheen and antiqued look. The colours on offer are classic and pair well with most outfits and suits. Waxy leather comes from Badalassi Carlo tannery from Italy, which also makes many popular leather articles such as Pueblo and Minerva Box.

Saddle Stitched by Hand with Linen Thread
Every strap is saddle stitched by hand by our leather artisans. Unlike lock stitch created by machines, a saddle stitch is more durable as it is made of two independent stitches that forms a knot at every stitch. Linen thread in 0.35mm thickness was selected for a fine and natural weave.

Sealed Edges for Long-Term Durability
Our edges are finished with multiple layers of edge paint to seal the raw edges. The edges are sanded and edge paint is applied. After the first layer of edge paint has dried, another round of sanding and another layer of edge paint is applied. This process repeats until the edge paint is smooth and uniform.

When I purchased this strap it was exactly the color I wanted. Light brown tan colored. Today, less than a year later, the color has changed to a blah dark brown color and the durability is no better than the cheap brown straps I've been ordering from Amazon for less than $20. Delugs advertises a "Lifetime Guarantee" on its website which is false. Customer service responded and said they only allow returns within 14 days. It wouldn't have been worth returning because they don't cover shipping. The only remedy would be for this company to send me a replacement strap of my choosing that WILL NOT change color so quickly. I have tan shoes, gloves and belts that have not discolored after 20 years of ownership.
Hi Chris, thank you for your feedback. What you are describing is called leather patina. It is a natural process for veg tanned leather products to darken in colour over time with use. Patina affects the look of the strap, but does not affect the durability (unless it is heavily used / abused to the point of breakage). We do mention this about patina in the product description, but you might have missed that part of the description when purchasing the product. As patina is a natural process, and even considered by some to be a desirable characteristic, naturally the strap will not qualify for a replacement under our Lifetime Guarantee. I would suggest that in future you can purchase a strap made from chrome-tanned leather instead, as that will not patina with use.
