The Black Bay series has been a resounding success since its introduction, captivating the hearts of enthusiasts and collectors alike. However, as an enthusiast with a smaller wrist, I have had a complicated relationship with the series. While I adore its design and heritage with no doubt, I have struggled with its size and thickness. But all of that changed with the introduction of the Black Bay 54. With its 37mm case size and bracelet featuring the T-Fit system, I have finally found a Black Bay that fits my slender wrist perfectly. The combination of a smaller case size and an adjustable bracelet has been a game-changer, allowing me to wear the watch with confidence and comfort.

Despite its great looks and the convenience of the T-Fit bracelet, I still enjoy pairing my Black Bay 54 with straps from time to time. As the saying goes among enthusiasts, "If you can't afford a new watch, buy a new strap." This phrase couldn't be more true, as a new strap can breathe fresh life into a familiar timepiece and give it a whole new personality.

Another pick that may seem counterintuitive for a diver watch, but again, great contrast and wrist presence, while also offering a cleaner look that can complement any outfit. I'm particularly excited to see how it will age over time, as I think it will develop a beautiful patina that will match the watch's vintage vibe perfectly.

This strap is sure to be a perfect combination for the summer months, with its crisp white colour and vintage waffle pattern. The cut-to-size design also ensures a comfortable fit, making it a joy to wear. The overall look and feel of this strap is sure to be a great match for the 54.

Delcro straps have always been a personal favourite of mine, offering a sleek and streamlined alternative to traditional NATO straps. The lack of a chunky tail creates a clean and minimalist look that I find particularly appealing. To me, this combination is perfectly well-balanced, with the wrist presence of the watch complemented by the subtle texture and grain of the Chevre leather strap. I'm ending with what I consider to be the most harmonious combination. The strap's contrasting edge and keepers perfectly match the dial and bezel markings, creating a seamless and cohesive look. The result is a beautifully balanced and visually appealing combination that showcases the 54 in all its glory. It's a fitting conclusion to my exploration of strap options and one that I think truly highlights the watch's design.
