Strap Guide: Panerai Luminor Marina PAM111

Introduction

Hey everyone! This is Jorge G aka @thetravelingtimepiece When Ken asked me if I would be interested in doing a Strap Guide for my Pam111, I did not hesitate to say yes. The Panerai Luminor Marina Pam111 was for a long time in my list of watches I really wanted in my collection. To be honest, I really wanted a Panerai with a Sandwich dial, no date -as I dislike the way the cyclops looks on Panerai- and an open case back, even though I don’t usually look at it. The watch came to me via my brother, who is also a watch collector, and I couldn’t be happier.

Delugs has a lot of great options for Panerai watches, and it was not easy to choose only five of them for this Strap Guide but I ended up choosing the Cognac Crazy Horse Strap, the Orange Buttero Chunky Strap, and the Navy Minerva Box Chunky strap; I also requested my wife’s help to choose two other straps, as I am colorblind and I tend to go for the same colors all the time, and I am so glad she got to choose. She chose the Moss Green Babele Chunky Strap and the Natural Babele Chunky Strap.

Cognac Crazy Horse Chunky

Let’s start with a classic. The Cognac Crazy Horse Strap is the perfect color to take your Pam for an adventure. You can wear it with jeans, a t-shirt and a sweater and go about your day. The softness of the leather combined with the ruggedness of the strap style, makes a perfect combination with the Pam111.

Orange Buttero Chunky

The Orange Buttero Chunky Strap was a combo I’d been wanting to try for a while, as I know how great the watch looks with an orange strap, and this Orange Buttero leather did not disappoint. The color is so perfectly executed combined with the nice stitching on the sides, it is just perfect for the black dial of the Pam111.

Navy Minerva Box Chunky

The Navy Minerva Box Chunky strap was my option to make the Pam111 look dressier. The dark strap and black dial combo just played so well, and I really received a lot of compliments when I wore it. The Minerva Box has a very nice texture that cannot be perceived from afar but once you see it up close and feel it in your hand, it is just fantastic. I would love to get this same strap in a different color in the future.

Green Babele Chunky

Now, as you can see, the previous options are the typical colors and kinds of leather we all would choose for our watches, but my biggest surprise came from the Babele leather straps. The texture of the leather is just amazing, and how it looks on the wrist just goes so well with many different outfits. The Green Babele and the Natural Babele Chunky straps both make really great combinations for a Panerai and they both scream: Don’t take this hobby too seriously!
