Introduction
The worldtimer complication holds a unique allure for watch collectors—you either love it or overlook it entirely. For me, I was deeply fascinated with a watch capable of displaying 24 time zones at once. Even more captivating was the ability to quickly see the time in numerous cities worldwide, all while keeping my local home time front and center.
As I traversed different time zones, they served as a gentle reminder of my loved ones across the globe. A younger brother in Los Angeles, a family with their children in Sydney, and friends in South America—it was a quiet yet profound connection to those living their lives miles away. In moments like these, a timepiece becomes more than just an accessory; it becomes a symbol of connection and an unbreakable bond that transcends distance.
This sentiment is what truly drew me to a worldtimer.
Today’s strap guide features the Frederique Constant Classics Worldtimer Manufacture. While names like Patek Philippe, Omega, Bulgari, and Jaeger-LeCoultre might dominate conversations around worldtimers, I find myself gravitating toward this piece thanks to its wearable dimensions and stunning blue dial.
So, strap in (pun intended) as I explore the Classics Worldtimer paired with some stylish strap options from Delugs!
White Rubber CTS
Here’s a pairing I can’t recommend enough: the ever-popular CTS strap. For the record, I’ve paired the CTS with most of my watches, and it consistently delivers the most comfortable wearing experience. In this case, the Delugs White Rubber CTS strap shines once again, offering a sporty and stylish look with its clean white colour. The leaf-spring deployant clasp adds to the appeal by providing a secure, balanced fit that feels effortless especially during long hours of wear—a detail I’ve come to truly appreciate.
Navy Rubber CTS (Curved)
I haven’t shied away from featuring yet another CTS strap with this piece and for good reason. While some might think pairing a dressier watch with a sporty rubber strap isn’t ideal, I beg to differ. The Delugs Navy Curved Rubber CTS strap delivers the same unmatched comfort while maintaining a seamless look, perfectly fitting the curved case. The navy strap beautifully complements the blue dial of the Classics Worldtimer, creating a versatile pairing that works for any occasion. This might just become my GADA pairing—if such a category exists for straps too!
Matte Navy Alligator Signature
The beauty of the Classics Worldtimer lies in its refined dial and perfectly balanced design, making it a clear choice for formal occasions. Paired with the Delugs Matte Navy Alligator strap, the watch is elevated to an entirely new level of sophistication and class. Having tried numerous alligator straps, I can confidently say none match the comfort this particular strap provides. When paired with formal attire, this combination truly becomes the pièce de résistance for the Classics Worldtimer.
Dark Grey Alcantara Signature
In my experience, the Classics Worldtimer can be challenging to pair with straps. It often feels too sporty with a rubber strap or too formal with an alligator one. Enter the Dark Grey Alcantara strap—a perfect middle ground between these extremes. The dark grey subtly complements the blue sunray dial, creating a harmonious balance that enhances the watch’s aesthetics. This pairing offers a versatile and refined look, making it suitable for any occasion.
Orange Sailcloth Signature
As the saying goes, orange is the new black. With the Delugs Orange Sailcloth strap, the Classics Worldtimer takes on a bold and striking new look. I wasn’t sure this pairing would work at first, but it has exceeded my expectations and it’s sure to turn heads. Beyond its vibrant appeal, the durable and comfortable sailcloth material makes it a perfect choice for hot summer days, complementing the bright and colourful outfits of the season. I can foresee myself adding more sailcloth straps to pair with other watches in the collection.
