Introduction

For a long time I have been obsessed with the Cartier Tank design and it was one of my grail watches in my wish list. 2 years ago I got married and I was lucky enough to get this Tank Must to commemorate that special moment. It was the first “serious” watch in my collection to spend a lot of time in the store checking different sizes. For some reason, a lot of people tend to gravitate towards the smaller sizes with the Tank models but this Extra-Large model felt right when I tried it on my wrist. Mechanical movement with automatic winding and the date window also was a big plus in my opinion.

Despite my love for this watch, finding straps for it was hell of a journey (especially with Cartier boutique). After a long research I was so happy to find Delugs custom program. Moreover, when they launched their ready-made Tank straps collection, it was no-brainer for me to partner with them and create this strap guide for you.

Black Rubberised Leather (Togo) Cartier Tank

A must for the “Must”. No pun intended. A classic black leather watch strap with a luxurious Togo pattern but with waterproofness and scratch-resistant nature of rubber. Yes, please. Still dressy enough for a suit and casual enough for the black leather jacket and jeans. A perfect alternative to Cartier’s factory strap.

Gold Chevre Cartier Tank

If you want to give a pop of color to your Cartier this Gold Chevre strap is a perfect choice. However, it is still subtle enough for an everyday watch strap. You can wear it with your navy work suit and white shirt or pair it with a suede jacket and raw denim. A slight pebble texture of the leather from Alran tannery is very smooth to the touch. The leather breaks in almost immediately after the first wear.

Green Alcantara Cartier Tank

You can feel the softness of suede just by looking at the photos of this watch strap. Nevertheless, Alcantra is not technically suede. It is an Italian synthetic material with a soft microfiber pile known for its durability. A rich green color of that strap will be the perfect pick for your Fall outfits. You can pair it with a brown tweed blazer and turtleneck.

Light Grey Nubuck Cartier Tank

This is a perfect strap to turn your dressy Tank watch into a casual everyday piece. Soft but structured enough. It contrasts quite nicely with the light wash denim outfits and adds some elegance to your basic outfits.

Taupe Epsom Cartier Tank

If you already have your black Tank watch strap (you should at this point), this Taupe Epsom strap should be your first choice if you are overwhelmed with Delugs color selection. Taupe is a neutral color that goes with almost anything. With a laminated appearance and a rigid structure of Epsom leather you will need some time to break in the leather but eventually it will become soft enough to hold the shape of your wrist.
