So, when the Delugs team asked if I’d create a strap guide for the Tank Américaine Large, I’ll admit I was a little skeptical. If you’ve ever wrestled with odd lug widths like 19 or 21 mm, you’ll understand the struggle. The Américaine Large takes it a step further with a quirky 18.5 mm lug width, turning the search for a perfect strap into a bit of a treasure hunt. After chatting with the ever-knowledgeable Delugs team, though, we found that a 19 mm strap without padding fits perfectly.

A ‘trick’ is replacing this screw-bar system with a slim 19mm spring bar. On precious metal models, this may degrade the lug holes over time, so do this at your own risk.

Definitely not for the faint of heart or sore souls. This strap catches the eye the moment it meets the light, with a soft gradient of icy greys and off-whites that play beautifully against the rose gold case.
