Strap Guide: JLC Master Geographic Sector Dial

Introduction

Hi I’m Johnathan, co-founder of the Hong Kong based watch community The Horology Club @the.horology.club. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Geographic Sector dial was my first nice watch and as I felt I only ever needed one, I wanted to get a versatile one. Easy to both dress up or down, I’ve constantly changed the straps on it to suit my outfit and occasion and here are a few of my favourites.

Sapin Chèvre Slim

For my first look, I’ve chosen the Sapin Chèvre Slim. The green tone on this strap is playful and offers a casual young look. Perfect with t-shirt and shorts, I wear this a lot during days with awesome weather, out in the park, barbecues with friends.

Butterscotch Waxed Canvas Slim

I love this strap and I find it goes particularly well with a denim shirt, acting as a great contrast. The bonus with this one is on the underside it has a layer of rubber lining which means you don’t have to worry about wearing this in hot humid conditions. Perfect choice for a rugged look.

Dark Brown Nubuck Slim

Sometimes you just want to go with the classic brown. This Nubuck in dark brown is an extremely versatile look which can be used in a more formal setting as well as casual outings. The texture of the Nubuck is soft and lovely on the skin. One of my most worn straps, it never feels out of place no matter what my outfit is.

Glossy Orange Crocodile Signature

Crocodile straps can often lend a feeling of formality which may not always be the intention. Who says they always have to be? This one in an eye-catching orange changes the feeling of the crocodile completely and gives the combination a fun and exciting experience.

Denim Babele Slim

For a watch with blue accents, any blue strap would work well but I’ve chosen the Denim Babele Slim here as it’s an excellent choice to dress the watch down while giving it a bit of tone-on-tone action. To add to the look, you can even pair it with jeans and shirt, ready for date night without looking too formal.
