If you want your Apple Watch to be the one-watch solution, you'll need more than the stock sport straps that it comes with. If you are looking for a classic look that can do it all, the Barenia Apple Watch strap is perfect for the task. A tan, brown colour makes it suitable under a dress shirt or paired with a T-shirt. We know Apple sells this too under their Hermes line, but would you seriously pay $300 for a watch strap?
The strap is handcrafted from start to finish, and the quality shows. Don't be surprised if the strap outlasts the watch! As our artisan crafts each strap individually, the strap can be made to fit you like a T. Whether you have the 40mm and 44mm Apple Watch, in aluminum or stainless steel, in silver, space grey or gold and however big or small your wrist is, we've got you covered.
Note: These straps will be made to order and thus require a lead time of a month before it is shipped out to you. We hope you understand - good work takes good time!
Barenia leather is soft and supple, just the right firmness, and has the perfect shade of brown. It has a very smooth surface, with just a tiny bit of gloss. Closer inspection can reveal the beautiful grain on this leather. It has moderate scratch resistance which means you don't need to baby the strap. Small scratches can be buffed out with just some slight rubbing. This also means that Barenia is able to develop a beautiful patina that results in a slight darkening of the leather with use.
There are up to total of 3 layers of various material that goes into each strap, with each layer serving a specific purpose. From top to bottom, they are: (1) exterior leather, (2) synthetic strengthener, (3) lining leather.
All layers are firstly glued and pressed together, before they are stitched. Finally, the edges are finished with edge paint, which adds an additional layer along the exposed edges of leather and protects it from wear and tear, and water damage, over time. This also prevents the different layers from separating - an additional layer of prevention on top of the stitching.
Size: Not sure what size (length) to get for the straps? There are two methods to determine this.Method 1: If you have an existing strap on your watch, measure the long and short straps, sum up the lengths, and choose the variant (Small or Medium) that is the closest to the total length of your existing straps. For example, if your existing straps measure 105mm on the long strap and 80mm on the short strap, the total length is 185mm. The closest variant would be Medium (115mm/70mm = 185mm). Note that this is still an approximation, and you should adjust accordingly if your current strap does not fit your wrist perfectly.
Method 2: If your existing watch does not have a normal strap (you have a bracelet on), you would need to measure your wrist size and purchase the strap size according to the guidelines below. If you are between sizes (for e.g. wrist size of 17.5cm), we recommend to size up.
