Our signature watch strap in Shell Cordovan is the first line that we are bringing to the watch community. Each strap is padded, lined and stitched, using one of the most luxurious leathers known to leathercrafters. You'd expect your watches to last a lifetime - the straps shouldn't be any different.
All watch straps will come with a silver tang buckle and quick release bars, so that you can easily swap out between your favourite watch straps and not have to fuss about scratching your watch lugs. No one will judge you for changing straps every day!
Note: Small and Large straps, as well as straps with custom lug sizes, are made-to-order and will take around 4 weeks before it is shipped out.
The main leather used is Shell Cordovan from Shinki Hikaku tannery in Japan. The lining leather used is French goat leather that matches the colour of the Shell Cordovan.
See here for more details on the leather we use, because calling them "full grain leather" or "genuine leather" on its own does not do it justice.
There are a total of 4 layers of various material that goes into each strap, with each layer serving a specific purpose. From top to bottom, they are: (1) exterior leather, (2) padding, (3) synthetic strengthener, (4) lining leather.
All layers are firstly glued and pressed together, before they are stitched. Finally, the edges are finished with edge paint, which adds an additional layer along the exposed edges of leather and protects it from wear and tear, and water damage, over time. This also prevents the different layers from separating - an additional layer of prevention on top of the stitching.
