Buttero Signature Watch Strap (MTO)

Size Guide
  • Our signature watch strap in Buttero is the second item in our Signature line. Each strap is padded, lined and handstitched, using a veg-tanned leather that is extremely popular amongst leathercrafters.  Being veg-tanned means that the strap is stiff to begin with, but within a few days of wear it will mould to the shape of the wearer's wrist. While all of the straps are identical to begin with, over the weeks, months and years of wear, the strap will quickly patina and become unique to the owner. What's patina? I'll let the folks over here tell you all about it. In a nutshell, more wear, more patina, more sentimental value.

All watch straps will come with a silver tang buckle and quick release bars, so that you can easily swap out between your favourite watch straps and not have to fuss about scratching your watch lugs. No one will judge you for changing straps every day!

Note: All Buttero straps are made-to-order and will take around 4 weeks before it is shipped out.

  • The main and lining leather used is Buttero from Conceria Walpier tannery in Italy.

See here for more details on the leather we use, because calling them "full grain leather" or "genuine leather" on its own does not do it justice.

  • There are a total of 4 layers of various material that goes into each strap, with each layer serving a specific purpose. From top to bottom, they are: (1) exterior leather, (2) padding, (3) synthetic strengthener, (4) lining leather.

All layers are firstly glued and pressed together, before they are stitched. Finally, the edges are burnished to seal the edges, which protects the leather from wear and tear, and water damage, over time.

  • Lug Width: Find out the lug width of your watch mode. You can do this by searching the following "(watch model) lug width" in Google. Once you know the lug width (for e.g. 20mm), select the 20/18 variant for the lug width. 20 refers to the lug width, while 18 refers to the buckle width. Our straps come with a taper because it looks classier than straight straps.

Size: Not sure what size (length) to get for the straps? There are two methods to determine this.

Method 1: If you have an existing strap on your watch, measure the long and short straps, sum up the lengths, and choose the variant (Small or Medium) that is the closest to the total length of your existing straps. For example, if your existing straps measure 105mm on the long strap and 80mm on the short strap, the total length is 185mm. The closest variant would be Medium (115mm/70mm = 185mm). Note that this is still an approximation, and you should adjust accordingly if your current strap does not fit your wrist perfectly.

Method 2: If your existing watch does not have a normal strap (you have a bracelet on), you would need to measure your wrist size and purchase the strap size according to the guidelines below. If you are between sizes (for e.g. wrist size of 17.5cm), we recommend to size up.
    Small: 14.9cm - 18.4cm
    Medium: 16.3cm - 20.5cm

Bad Quality check and service

Received my buttero "handcrafted" strap. The leather was good but the buckle's tongue was too short. Could not clasp the watch onto my wrist. When i emailed the company, they said I should be able to fix it on my own easily. Pity i paid a premium for such quality and service.

No excuses, this was a mistake on my part in attaching the wrong tongue to the buckle and rushing to get the strap out of the door, and subsequently misunderstanding the problem with the buckle. Immediately rectified this with RC by heading down to his place and fixing the buckle, once I found out that the problem still persisted. No excuses, I will continue to improve on QC and customer service at Delugs. Thanks for the feedback and support!
Excellent features, quality craftsmanship

The quick release feature is a standout function that made choose Delugs over the rest. Future orders will be inevitable. Craftsmanship is top notch as well.

Fantastic product and value

I've owned numerous leather straps, but I've been most impressed by this Delug's Buttero leather strap. It's excellently crafted and has some of the best detailing I've seen on any strap, and competes with straps 2/3 times its price. I would highly recommend giving it a shot!

Really nice product

Great watch strap and no issues I can find. Nice leather, good pattern, tight stitching - seems like it will last.

Beautiful leather and stitching

Got my strap and love it. The white stitching looks really nice.
