Crazy Horse leather is what you get when you mix Nubuck and Pueblo into one leather. You get the velvety, soft texture of Nubuck, with the varied look, smooth surface and great patina potential of Pueblo. Crazy Horse leather will accumulate scratches with daily use, with variations in the colour tones as you put the strap through its paces. This is what makes this leather so attractive - these marks will only improve the vintage look of the strap, allowing the beauty of the leather to be the real attraction.
Combined with our Side-Stitch style, this strap is perfect if you want that vintage, casual look to dress down your timepiece. The strap is lined with Zermatt leather to keep give the strap some structure and made in 2.5mm thickness instead of our usual 2.2mm, ensuring a sturdy strap even as you go casual.
Made my purchase primarily based off the texture on the main photos and all other customers' photos - my other option was closer in color to a pair of brown suede shoes I'm trying to match it with but didn't have the texture I saw in these photos so my gf and I were super excited to come across this strap
As you may already know, suede and nubuck typically have a similar look due to having the same process of buffing/sanding.
I loved that this nubuck/pueblo strap for the light texture but didn't get any texture at all but:
Heads up, you might get a perfectly smooth one like the one I received. It's 100% smooth all the way through as if it's visually a completely different strap. I have a feeling that they accidentally skipped the last step.
As they described, this strap is also intended to pick up scratches/wear easily to age beautifully - however this means that from me trying it on, there are already immediate signs of wear (unlike the cordovan strap I also purchased) which disqualify it from being returned/exchanged.
Customer service is super quick to respond to my emails with photos but unfortunately does not provide prepaid labels and suggests return/reorder - but I purchased at the annual discount so I'd be losing money in doing that and potentially could get unlucky again if this is a batch thing.
Didn't expect this to be a lottery situation and super jealous of the other owners of this strap! Will have to look elsewhere to find the strap with the soft texture of nubuck that this description said it would have had
